The story

SANA was set up in 1989 as a Natural Food Exhibition. A pioneering start on the road of organic agriculture highlight the close links between food, health and the environment and the show championed this new approach.

BolognaFiere

In 2009, BolognaFiere became the sole owner of SANA,
and the 2010 edition had a new image: an increasingly international exhibition with special emphasis on the Mediterranean countries. The edition focused on the theme “Organic’s coming out”, and offered a Bio-Bar, a Bio restaurant, and conferences, meetings, and workshops on organic products.

In 2011, the turning point . Sana is more and more a professional event, the natural reference point in the Mediterranean area, with an increased commitment to do on major international markets.
The Nutrition Sector emphasises the values of organic products and only companies with certified organic products will be allowed to exhibit.
The Health and Wellness Sector is dedicated to companies with certified organic and natural products based on official herbs (food supplements and beauty products).

An Independent Committee, composed of representatives of certification bodies, has been set to carefully check that every company is certified.
An Advisory Committee, composed of representatives of all producer associations will work with the organizers to define growth strategies.
