EUR 5.7 million to finance 35 innovative projects aimed at sustainable agriculture and combating climate change. It is only the second step of a process started in 2016, with the first 52 research groups funded with €12 million of support.


The four issues addressed by the new research groups: conservation of organic matter and carbon sequestration; reduction of greenhouse emissions; use of waste and other food by-products for bio-economy and renewable energy purposes and preservation and the restoration of biodiversity.


‘With this announcement - says the Regional Councillor for Agriculture Simona Caselli - the aim of the call for proposals is to focus on the development of experiences and good practices to provide answers and operational solutions to the business world in order to combat the causes of climate change responsible for consequences such as the exceptional period of drought that we are experiencing ".


The Emilia-Romagna Region - in line with its policies for the environment and sustainability - will be one of the main supporters of the upcoming SANA edition, with a stand at the Fair and a whole range of events presented there.
