Positive data for the cosmetics industry emerge from the latest surveys by Cosmetica Italia. In 2015 the sector had a 10 billion euro turnover, with exports growing by more than 14 percentage points, leading to a positive trade surplus of 2.0 billion euro. The domestic market is showing signs of recovery with +1.4% and 9.8 million products purchased.


The strong interest in the world of natural cosmetics is confirmed by the ongoing growth rates in herbal products, with a turnover rising from 365 to 431 million in the five-year period 2010-2015 (+2.2% forecast for the end of 2016).


Pharmacy sales of cosmetics also grew to a value estimated at around 1,850 million euro (+1.3%) by the end of this year.
