We are a historic family-run Roman coffee roasting company that has been selecting the best coffee beans since 1950 to create blends that combine taste, craftsmanship, and Italian quality.

What inspired your participation in SANA Food 2026, and what goals or expectations are guiding you in this new edition?

We have participated in various editions of Sana in the past, which has always been an important event for us, as it is perfectly in line with our values of respect for health, work, and the planet. In this edition, with its new look, we hope to create important international connections to promote the trade of our products and spread more conscious coffee consumption.

Today’s consumers are increasingly conscious about health and well-being. How has this awareness influenced your production choices or inspired new product concepts?

Before being producers, we are consumers. Our family has always been oriented towards organic and fair-trade consumption choices. Driven by these ideas, we created the Biocaffè line, a 100% organic and fair-trade coffee, back in the early 2000s, when these certifications were barely considered in our sector. In this sense, we were among the first ones to pave the way for organic/fair trade coffee in Rome and Italy.

Tradition and innovation often go hand in hand in a company’s growth journey. How do you manage to honor your roots while giving them a contemporary interpretation?

The coexistence of two generations, the second and third since the company was founded, allows us to successfully combine traditional elements with more innovative ones. Listening to and observing the constantly evolving market certainly drives us to seek new product proposals and innovative solutions. On the other hand, our long history and wealth of knowledge and experience cannot be ignored and indeed continue to guide us in a significant way, as we are convinced that keeping certain aspects of tradition alive without obsessively bowing to “modernity” is the strength that has made Italian manufacturing famous throughout the world.

Transparency, sustainability, and traceability have become essential values in today’s market. How do you bring these principles to life in your distribution practices?

Strong, long-lasting partnerships with our suppliers enable us to maintain active control over the quality of the products we process. Regular audits by certification bodies ensure compliance with these principles. These checks are also essential in encouraging us to make progress on these issues, which are central for us, by adopting increasingly green and verifiable practices and technologies, such as smoke abatement during production, the use of recycled and recyclable packaging, and distribution using methane and electric vehicles. The values that drive our business also attract equally conscious customers, who in turn keep these virtuous practices alive. It is truly a cooperative and valuable distribution network.
