From the organic seed plan to the new EU simplification regulations, MASAF has chosen SANA Food, an event sponsored by the Ministry, to review the prospects for the organic sector.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry has a comprehensive and strategic presence at SANA Food, an event sponsored by MASAF and one of the main forums for discussion in the organic sector. Three events, spread throughout the event, will focus on data, operational tools, and regulatory updates designed to have a concrete impact on the future of the sector.
The first focus, scheduled for today, Sunday, February 22nd, from 3:00 PM in the Ismea-MASAF space (Pavilion 18), was dedicated to organic biodistricts. The meeting highlighted structural data, best practices, and product traceability systems, key elements for strengthening the identity and competitiveness of organic regions. Speakers included D. Del Bello and F. Crescenzi of CIHEAM Bari, L. Viganò of CREA – PB, and R. Orsi (DIAGRAM), moderated by S. Canali.
Tomorrow, Monday, February 23, from 4:30 pm, again in Pavilion 18, the discussion will focus on the Organic Seed Plan and the new strategic horizon for 2029. This represents a crucial step towards ensuring production autonomy, quality, and innovation in the sector. Speakers will include P. Torrelli for MASAF, along with A. Giulini and G. Spataro of CREA. The meeting will outline objectives, tools, and development prospects for an increasingly organic-oriented seed supply chain.
On Tuesday, February 24, the closing day, starting at 11:00 am, the spotlight will be on new European regulations regarding simplification, a key issue for businesses and operators faced with an ever-evolving regulatory framework. G. Paesano and G. Rivieccio of MASAF will discuss the main legislative innovations and their potential impacts on the sector.
MASAF's presence at SANA Food represents a strategic opportunity for updates and dialogue, aimed at producers, stakeholders, and professionals interested in understanding the dynamics that are redefining the Italian and European organic sector.
