Our story is shaped by hands, land, and time. For generations, we have cultivated and crafted our olives with passion, preserving a body of knowledge passed down from father to son. Today, with Tommaso and Giuseppe, tradition looks toward the future: experience and innovation come together to create an extra virgin olive oil that expresses authenticity, quality, and deep respect for the land. For us, every bottle embodies our daily commitment: harvesting at the optimal moment, careful pressing, and decisions shared within the family. In this way, we bring to the table an oil that is not only a wholesome, healthy food, but also a true expression of our history, our family, and our love for our land.

What inspired your participation in SANA Food 2026, and what goals or expectations are guiding you in this new edition?

Participation in SANA Food 2026 stems from our desire to present our organic extra virgin olive oil — including our Slow Food Presidium dedicated to centuries-old olive trees, the single-variety Carolea, and our signature blend — within a setting that celebrates quality, authenticity, and sustainability. It is also an opportunity to engage with an increasingly informed and discerning audience. In this new edition, we are guided by clear objectives: to consolidate established relationships, strengthen our presence within the organic sector, develop new commercial partnerships, and convey to the public the true value of an extra virgin olive oil produced in full respect of the environment — the result of daily commitment that brings together tradition, responsibility, and identity.

Today’s consumers are increasingly conscious about health and well-being. How has this awareness influenced your production choices or inspired new product concepts?

The growing consumer focus on food safety and well-being has strengthened our conviction: to produce an oil that is excellent, sustainable, and ethically responsible. For this reason, we manage our company in accordance with organic farming standards, committing every day to protecting and preserving the health of our olive trees and olives. We carefully oversee every stage of fruit processing, thereby ensuring food safety and delivering a product with the highest expressive value.

For these reasons, we have expanded our oleotourism and educational farm activities — essential tools for fostering informed consumers and transforming extra virgin olive oil into a bridge between landscapes, territory, and culture.

Tradition and innovation often go hand in hand in a company’s growth journey. How do you manage to honor your roots while giving them a contemporary interpretation?

For us at Oleificio Torchia, tradition and innovation move forward side by side. The knowledge handed down through generations guides us in caring for our olives and producing our oil, while continuous training enables us to update our expertise and techniques in order to best preserve our olive groves and ensure sustainable, high-quality production. We cultivate olive trees with more than 500 years of history and deep roots in our land. At the same time, each year we plant new trees so that they may one day become centuries-old olive trees for those who will care for this land in the future. We believe in our roots and in our love for Calabria — the land of two seas that welcomes our steps and our work, and generously returns the fruits of our respect. Our commitment to respect and sustainability is reflected in the way we live and operate.

A significant portion of our company’s energy needs is self-generated thanks to recent investments in renewable sources:

Transparency, sustainability, and traceability have become essential values in today’s market. How do you bring these principles to life in your distribution practices?

For us, transparency, sustainability, and traceability are not merely words, but tangible values that guide every stage of our operations. In distributing our oil, we translate these principles into precise practices: we ensure full product traceability, from the mill to the table, sharing with our customers all relevant information about the journey of our olives and the production techniques adopted. We are equally committed to reducing environmental impact in logistics, prioritizing sustainable packaging and collaborating with partners who share our values.

In this way, every bottle that reaches our consumers’ tables represents not only quality and emotional depth, but also clarity, environmental responsibility, and safety.
