February 2026
We are Alessandro and Eralda. Our return to Mother Earth began in 2014, when bees entered our lives. Thanks to them, we found the courage to move to the Apennines in December 2021 and establish our family-run company, “Storie di Mieli”, certified organic. Our work revolves around nomadic beekeeping and natural regenerative agriculture. As professional beekeepers, we practice transhumance, following seasonal blooms to protect biodiversity and ensure the well-being of our bees. Alongside beekeeping, we carry out a significant production of ancient grains, cultivated according to the principles of natural and regenerative farming. We are committed to the recovery of ancient seeds, including einkorn wheat (farro monococco) —a cereal that has remained almost unchanged over time—as well as various varieties of ancient soft wheat, ancient corn, and sunflowers, all grown in our mountain fields. From our dedication to sowing “Chicco Vivo” (Living Grain) come our living flours, produced from cereals grown in regenerated soils, without the use of chemical products, in order to preserve their natural nutrients, enzymes, and vitamins. We have also launched several initiatives aimed at reconnecting people with nature and promoting conscious agriculture, including the symbolic adoption of elements of our farm.
What inspired your participation in SANA Food 2026, and what goals or expectations are guiding you in this new edition?
Your philosophy, which aims to bring the principles of healthy and natural nutrition to consumers, led us to ask to participate. We are proud to be part of it because we want to share our mission: "RETURN TO MOTHER EARTH." Four years ago, we made the conscious and courageous choice to leave the city of Bologna and our two wonderful professions (dentist and pharmacist) to live in direct contact with nature, moving to the Apennines. Our long-standing passion for bees has become the most beautiful job there is, committed to protecting these wonderful little creatures. Thanks to our commitment to nomadism, we always offer our bees beautiful pastures, and the bees provide us with prized honey, including national rarities such as amorpha fruticosa, apple, cherry, coriander, sunflower, etc. And thanks to the bees we now also dedicate ourselves to mother earth by working in the fields and sowing life “ANCIENT CEREALS, ANCIENT CORN, ANCIENT SUNFLOWERS AND SAFFRON” ALL IN A HEALTHY, CLEAN AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AS WE LIKE IT at STORIE DI MIELI, also CERTIFIED ORGANIC.
Today’s consumers are increasingly conscious about health and well-being. How has this awareness influenced your production choices or inspired new product concepts?
We ourselves were the first to realize that eating healthy and with real, quality foods was the most important thing in today's world. The only way was to SELF-PRODUCE our own food, 100% natural, healthy, and organic. That's why we chose to change our lives. We're incredibly happy to bring real, natural, and healthy food to our tables and those of those who choose us.
Tradition and innovation often go hand in hand in a company’s growth journey. How do you manage to honor your roots while giving them a contemporary interpretation?
At STORIE DI MIELI, our greatest commitment is to raising bees naturally, fully respecting the well-being of our animals but adopting modern techniques, especially to manage new health challenges that previously didn't exist. At STORIE DI MIELI, our farming practices are as natural as possible, using practices that are gentle on the soil and all the organisms that live there, which are increasingly welcomed and considered essential for a healthy cycle—biodiversity.
Transparency, sustainability, and traceability have become essential values in today’s market. How do you bring these principles to life in your distribution practices?
At STORIE DI MIELI, our distribution strategy focuses on a production cycle that is as closed and short as possible, and is entirely characterised by the traceability of small, clear batches.
